The Party

The party may change from time to time but I will try to keep up with them here as the story progresses. The party was built with the standard loot rules as presented by Paizo and found on the Archives of Nethys website. We were allowed to use Free Archetype rules and Ancestry Paragon alternate rules. I may or may not be posting my PCs builds, but if I do you will find them in the Pathfinder 2e Character Builds Section.

Currently the Party is level 5 and consists of:

Resi Lanka, Nagaji Magus

Zentih, Gargoyle Fighter

Casiina, Fairie Dragon Alchemist and her Unicorn mount, Ekos

Jagen Koyan, Fetchling Cleric of Nocticula

Varg Moonclaw, Human/Beastkin (Wolf), Fighter

Some of the party may have detailed backstories and some may not. It will depend on the level of detail that the players who play these characters provide for me to elaborate on. At the very least I will try to give you a physical description of the characters and some of what I am learning about them as we travel together. Of course as we continue to play sessions the PC’s will all grow, so be sure to follow along! Without further ado.

Resi Lanka

Meet Resi Lanka, the Nagaji Magus, a pivotal character in this Gatewalkers Adventure. With his cobra-like features and scale mail armor enhancing his serpentine appearance, Resi Lanka is an embodiment of courage and intelligence in this vibrant universe.

Resi Lanka isn’t your typical adventurer. Hailing from the Nagaji ancestry, he carries the distinct characteristics of his lineage – a humanoid with a touch of the serpentine, walking on two legs, and bearing a face that resembles a cobra’s. His scale mail armor further enhances his snake-like appearance, creating a formidable presence on the battlefield.

Yet, beneath this daunting exterior lies a heart that beats for his comrades and a mind sharp as a razor. Resi is known for his practicality and wisdom, always acting with forethought. His tactical acumen shines during combat, making him an invaluable asset to his team.

But what truly sets Resi apart is his unique choice of weapon – a Gada, a large, round, two-handed hammer. It’s not just a tool for brute force; it’s also a conduit for his magic. By channeling his spells through his Gada, Resi can amplify their effect, creating a lethal combination of physical might and magical prowess.

The Gada tells a tale of Resi’s uniqueness and adaptability. It’s an unusual choice of weapon for a Magus, suggesting that Resi is not afraid to break convention and forge his path. The way he channels his magic through the Gada speaks of his innovative spirit, his ability to think outside the box, and his willingness to experiment and take risks. It also hints at his strength – both physical, to wield such a heavy weapon, and mental, to control and direct his magic through it.

Resi Lanka is not just a warrior, but a thinker, a strategist, and a protector. He hits hard, but he also cares deeply. His courage, intelligence, and innovative combat style make him a force to be reckoned with in the Gatewalkers Adventure. As you journey alongside him, you’ll find that there’s a lot more to this Nagaji Magus than meets the eye.

Casiina Worldwalker

Casiina Fairie Dragon Gatewalkers
Casiina Worldwalker

Introducing Casiina, the Fairy Dragon Alchemist, an enigmatic and vivid character in the Gatewalkers Adventure. She is a whimsical creature of the First World, transformed from Drixie to Fairy Dragon, and rides a majestic white unicorn named Ekos.

Casiina’s tale is one of transformation and discovery. Once a sprite with faerie dragon ancestry, she underwent a metamorphosis that saw her become a Fairy Dragon. This change was more than just physical; it shaped her perspective and ignited a unique fascination with the world around her.

Her early years were filled with mischief and tomfoolery. She was known for her pranks at the academy where she studied under Dr. Etward Ritalson, a peculiar Ustalavic researcher and fellow gatewalker. Her antics, while often amusing, led to her expulsion following a particularly daring prank involving wonder glue and the unfortunate dean.

Casiina’s past also holds a touch of mystery and melancholy. Abandoned in a human village by her parents, she grew up with a skewed understanding of the First World and developed an “immortality complex” as a defense mechanism against the hardships she faced. Despite her vivacious personality, she often struggled with social norms, leading to occasional faux pas that belied her naivety.

Yet, beneath this playful exterior, Casiina possesses a keen intellect and a fascination with poisons that borders on obsession. As an alchemist, she wields bombs and poisons with unsettling ease, turning these deadly tools into weapons of chaos on the battlefield.

The night of the Missing Moment marked a key turning point for Casiina. It was then that she met her first set of real companions, forming bonds that she cherishes deeply. Her attachment to her friends is as fierce as her love for mischief, making her a loyal and unpredictable ally.

Casiina’s journey is not just about battling foes or exploring new realms; it’s about understanding her place in the world and coming to terms with her unique existence. As you follow her story, you’ll find that this Fairy Dragon Alchemist is much more than her pranks and poisons – she is a testament to the power of transformation, the beauty of curiosity, and the strength of friendship.

Jagen Koyan

Hailing from the desolate Shadow Plane, a realm soon to be known as The Netherworld, is Jagen Koyan, the Fetchling Cleric of Nocticula. His past is not a tale spun from the looms of heroism but a grim chronicle of crime and cruelty. He was not a mere thief, but a malefactor who sowed terror in the hearts of his victims. Yet, even in the darkest souls, there lies a spark of redemption.

The night of the Missing Moment shimmered with the promise of gold and wealth. But it was not riches that Jagen found, but the path to salvation. A cleric of Nocticula took him under her wing, guiding him away from his life of crime and towards the light of redemption. It was a grueling journey, one that demanded the shedding of old habits and the embracing of new virtues.

Jagen’s transformation into a War Priest Cleric was not an overnight affair. He wrestled with his old self, occasionally falling back into his former ways. But each stumble was a lesson learned, each fall a step closer to redemption. Now, he stands as a beacon of hope for those lost in the darkness, a testament to the power of change.

His dusky gray coat, reminiscent of swashbucklers, and his dark shadow-like skin serve as reminders of his past. They are symbols of his journey from the bleak Netherworld to the material plane, from a life of villainy to a path of righteousness. His firearms and spells are no longer instruments of fear, but shields of protection for those he now calls comrades.

In battle, Jagen’s prowess is undeniable. His timely healing has saved many a life, while his combat skills have turned the tide of numerous fights. His journey of redemption may not yet be complete, but every day brings him closer to the man he strives to become.

This is Jagen Koyan, the gunslinging cleric. A figure of resilience and transformation, a symbol of redemption emerging from the shadows of his past. His tale is not one of immediate heroism, but a slow and steady rise from the ashes of his former self. In the intricate tapestry of the Gatewalkers Adventure, his thread weaves a narrative of hope and change, a testament that even in the darkest souls, there can be light.

Zenith

In the depths of a foreign planet, discovered beyond the gates, the Gatewalkers Adventure party encountered an ally in the most unexpected form – Zenith, the Gargoyle Fighter. An imposing figure made of stone, yet beating with a heart as warm as the earth’s core.

Zenith was found standing guard at the end of a trap-laden passage, his stony exterior belying a pacifist spirit. Despite his formidable physique and lethal combat skills, Zenith is often hesitant to resort to violence. His first instinct is not to fight but to protect, a testament to his gentle heart and compassionate nature.

Adorned with a candy cane-style red and white scarf, Zenith is a sight to behold. He fights not with weapons of steel and wood, but with tooth and claw – a testament to his raw, primal strength. But don’t let his fearsome appearance fool you. Zenith is a lover of tea and trashy romance novels, a machine built for battle who would rather engage in the simple pleasures of life.

Having been a statue for a significant part of his existence, Zenith carries a certain innocence about him. He’s still getting used to the ways of the humanoids, often looking to his companions for guidance. His unfamiliarity with their customs often results in comedic misunderstandings, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

But Zenith is no fool. Whether he’s genuinely oblivious to these playful deceptions or simply blessed with an abundance of patience and a great sense of humor, he takes it all in stride. He understands that friendship often comes with its share of harmless pranks and jests.

However, make no mistake – when pressed, Zenith can be a formidable force. His loyalty to his friends is unyielding, and he will not hesitate to unleash his full might to protect them. His encounters with the Myroga and the alien leopard-like creature are testaments to his bravery and combat prowess.

This is Zenith, the Gargoyle Fighter – a gentle giant with a heart of gold and fists of stone. He may not fully understand the ways of the humanoids yet, but his loyalty, courage, and kindness make him an invaluable member of the Gatewalkers Adventure party. His story is a reminder that even in the most unlikely places, friendship and camaraderie can be found.

Varg Moonclaw

In the boundless expanse of the cosmos, where reality weaves through the mysterious portals, a figure stands with the primal force of nature coursing through his veins. His name is Varg Moonclaw, a Beastkin/Human Fighter, a perfect fusion of human intelligence and the raw, untamed power of a wolf.

Varg’s journey begins far from the familiar confines of Golarion, on a strange planet whose secrets are as vast as its alien landscapes. His formidable stature belies a man caught between two worlds – his humanity mirrored in his cunning mind, his beastkin heritage reflected in the predatory grace of his wolf-like form.

His weapons of choice, a pair of returning throwing axes, are a testament to his skill as a warrior. Like extensions of his own arms, they slice through the air with an uncanny precision, their deadly dance a mesmerizing display of Varg’s martial prowess. Each throw, each catch, tells a story of countless battles fought and won, of an indomitable spirit honed by adversity.

As the echoes of his past reverberate through the chambers of his mind, a transformation takes place within him. His magical abilities, once a beacon in the darkness, begin to wane. In their place, his beastkin instincts surge forth, igniting a savage cunning that sharpens his senses and hones his combat skills. This metamorphosis, while unsettling, brings Varg closer to the essence of his true self – a warrior forged in the crucible of survival.

Yet, even as he embraces this newfound power, Varg is haunted by a question that gnaws at his soul – what is his purpose? The Guild of Wonders, a name that resonates with an ominous familiarity, emerges from the fragments of his forgotten memories. Was he a part of this notorious organization? An assassin perhaps, contracted to eliminate an unknown target?

The answers to these questions remain shrouded in the mists of time, hidden behind the riddle of the Gates. To unravel this mystery, Varg must journey through these cosmic doorways, each step bringing him closer to the truth of his origins. The path is fraught with danger and uncertainty, but Varg Moonclaw strides forward, guided by the call of the wild and the burning resolve in his heart.

This is Varg, the Beastkin/Human Fighter – a man of cunning mind and primal power, a warrior seeking answers in a universe full of questions. His tale is one of self-discovery and transformation, a testament to the indomitable spirit of survival that resides within us all.
